1ST IN THE SERIES
: U.S. Marine Corps "No. 122" F4U

This Corsair was used by Marine fighter squadron VMF-111 in the Pacific theatre, and was the only Airplane to receive an Official Citation during the War. The 100 "Bomb Mission" marks, represent the number of sorties completed without having to return due to mechanical failure, thus the special recognition. This plane operated from the Gilbert and Marshall Islands in 1944.

2ND IN THE SERIES : US Army Air Corps 5th Air Force P-51D
This Aircraft was one of the Mustangs assigned to the 5th Air Force in the late stages of the War in the Pacific. This fighter Plane belonged to the 348th Fighter Group and is shown as it appeared at 
Luzon, Philippine Islands in 1945.


3RD IN THE SERIES : Royal New Zealand Air Force F4U
This was one of the 424 Corsairs supplied to 13 different New Zealand Units in 1944-45. "Kiwi" Corsairs were first used in the ground attack role during the campaigns in the Solomon's and the Bismarck Islands. The RNZAF used the Corsairs until the late 1940's when most were scrapped.

4TH IN THE SERIES : Royal Air Force Mustang Mk IV, 112 Squadron
This Mustang was part of the "Sharkmouth" 112 Sqn, which had originally used it's distinctive markings on 
P-40 Warhawks in the Western Desert. It was based in Italy, where the RAF Mk IV and Mk 111 Mustangs supported Allied ground forces as well as clearing the skies of Axis Aircraft.


5TH IN THE SERIES : U.S. Naval Air Reserve FG-1D
The Goodyear built Corsair was stationed at the Naval Air Reserve base at Oakland, California (Oakland was identified by the "FF" code) in the late 1948 and displays the "International Orange" stripe applied to most USNR Aircraft during the Post War period.

6TH IN THE SERIES : U.S. Army Air Crops 15th Air Force P-51D
The Mustang was used by the Group Operations Officer of the 52nd Fighter Group, and retains the 5th Fighter Squadron "VF-V" code used by him as Squadron Co. Seeing action in the Mediterranean theatre, this Mustang flew from bases in Italy. It survived the War and later served in two National Guard Units as well as the Indonesian Air Force. It was returned to the USA in 1979 and has since been restored.

SPECIAL GOLD CORSAIR : "Lullubelle" flown by Pappy Boyington
Maj. Gregory Boyington, USMC, commanded VMF-214 - the "Black Sheep" Squadron and once flew this 
"White 86", before being downed and captured by the Japanese, during which time he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honour.
